The navigation license replaces the “Titulín”. The licence allows to use pleasure boats up to 6 meters length and with a propulsion power appropriate, as per factory indications, as well as Jetskis class C. The navigation will be daytime and cannot be more than 2 nautical miles away against the Marina or harbour.
This license does not require examination and may be issued by the Federations of sailing and power boating and recreational sailing schools.
How to obtain ?
Theory: two hours of theory. Introduction to practical content, knowledge about the limitations of navigation in not marked beaches buoyed and access channels. Regulations regarding maritime navigation and the use of marina waters. How to steer the boat to avoid balances and nodding and importance of not traversed at sea. Rules 4-8, 11-19 and 37 (including Annex IV) of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.
Basic instructions for using a portable VHF radio station, limiting the knowledge of the channel 16, its use in an emergency and basic routine communications, as well as how to contact Rescue.
This theoretical training may be given in a classroom or in your own craft practices.
Practical: to obtain the navigation license you will need four hours practice which will consist in the knowledge of safety material, to review the critical points of the vessel and pre-departure checks at sea, also to identify the propulsion elements, engine starting and operation checks. Handling ropes and basic knots i. Manoeuvring in dock, berths and docks. Safe speed. Manoeuvre of anchoring and departing. Precautions with swimmers and divers and safety manoeuvres.
