London International Boat Show 2016
The 62nd International Boat Show of London “London Boat Show” this year closed its doors on January 17, 2016.
During the ten intense days in ExCeL London, where the flagship event is located, they received 90,328 people attendance.
Considered one of the most important shows, this edition did not disappointed no one by offering the best of the marine industry. There were nearly 400 boats on display and more than 132 boats made their debut in the competition.
Sunseeker launched the new Sunseeker 40.05m 131” (the biggest length never exhibited in a Show) which was docked at the marina.
Several brands were presented for the first time, Adidas Sailing and Bainbridge International.
As per the information reported by the exhibitors, this year sales have result in a strong increase.
Mediterranean Bay
A pool of 500m2, specially designed, was the place designed to represent the Mediterranean area.
This area hosted a wide range of activities. It was the place to experience by more than 1,000 skippers (amateurs and professionals).
Among the different activities could also enjoy Seabobbing, Water Walking and Stand Up Paddle Surf.
The Theatre
The “Theatre” welcomed performances and conferences from experts in navigation. Leaders in the world that spoke of innovation and the latest technology.
Alec Wilkinson (presenter of Britain’s top live sailing) was responsible for organizing roundtables, daily. Tucker Thompson (Copa America Commentator) was also there, the Olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie, the Coach Ben Williams, the winner of the Volvo Ocean Race, Ian Walker, and Dee Caffari skipper and navigator of several round the world races and with several records under his belt.
