Where I can leave my boat?
There are several possibilities. Boaters, who have enough space in your garage or home often choose to keep their boat at home, while others choose for options closer to the water, basically rent or buy a mooring in a marina.
Obviously at that decision there are pros and cons. There is clearly a limitation in length, ie; from about 7/8 meters the solution to continuously load our boat on a trailer is not very convenient because of the difficulty of the ramps. Nor can we ignore the difficulty of finding accessible ramps in our country (contrary happens in other countries like France and Italy).
There is also the possibility of winter our boat in large areas designated for that purpose. This will be useful if we use the boat only during the summer season. With this solution, we will achieve to reduce the exposition on the water, and ultimately reduce maintenance.
There are solutions, not widespread, mixed types that allow tie up our boat in a port with mechanical devices that lift the boat so that it is not in contact with water. More common is to see simple PVC platforms or similar materials that allow accommodate the watercraft.
Today in this post we will discuss some of the advantages that offer a Marina or Port.
In addition to meeting the primary objective of accommodating ships, the ports and marinas are popular for a particular reason: they are a safe place to store the boat! Most marinas offer a basic level of security, such as tickets to the public and controlled vehicles, as well as fix cameras and video surveillance. This factor can be decisive to give the tranquillity you need to enjoy your leisure time both in and out of the water.
Secure your boat in a Marina also has some economic and hedging effects should face value of our insurance policy.
All of us want to enjoy during our leisure time more comfort in our lives, especially when most of us have a boat just for pleasure; to enjoy it when we want. Having our boat in a Marina offers a convenience factor that few storage solutions are able to offer. To keep the boat in the marina and not have to worry about connecting to your trailer and drive to your destination … the boat is already there waiting!
When it comes to fun and socializing with other sailors, there are few better options than the local marina. We usually call “Life in the Dock”. Here you will find other colleagues to share the hobby, and soon it usually generates a venue for football match, go to the bar or restaurant in the Marina, and enjoy other activities together.
Easy access to facilities and resources
In addition to his advantage to keep things fun and coexistence in the water, marinas serve to provide more convenient access to the facilities. In most marinas, you can enjoy a shower after a long day at sea, fuelling, internet use, stock up on food and drink, and more. Also often we find professional spare parts and repair supplies that may be useful for small repairs, maintenance or water security.
